VERIZON WIRELESS
The bargaining committee is proud to present the final bargaining report on the tentative agreement with Verizon Wireless.
TERM
OF CONTRACT:
5 years - August 2, 2003 through August 1, 2008
WAGES:
2003 - 3%
on top rate
2% on
start and progression rates
2004 - 3%
on top rate
2% on
start and progression rates
2005 - 3%
on top rate
2% on
start and progression rates
2006
- 3%
on top rate
2% on start and progression rates
2007 - 3% on top rate
2% on start and progression rates
In each year – continue additional $1,000.00 for Cell
Technicians/Switch.
SUNDAY
DIFFERENTIAL:
Increase
to 135%
LAYOFF
AND RECALL:

Shall be by inverse
order of seniority, subject to employees’ skills, experience and ability to
perform the remaining work
·
Laid off bargaining
unit employees will be considered prior to off-street applicants for vacancies
for which they are qualified for two (2) years from layoff date. (An employment application must be filled
out)
·
Bargaining unit
employees continue to participate in the Verizon Wireless Severance Pay Plan.
·
Union has the right to
grieve and arbitrate Company’s decision of which employees to layoff and the
application of the recall procedure.
RETIREMENT
BENEFITS:
Bargaining unit employees will participate in the Verizon Wireless Savings and Profit Sharing Retirement Plan in the same manner as similarly situated employees.
WELFARE BENEFITS:
Bargaining unit employees will be covered by all Verizon Wireless Welfare Benefit Plans in the same manner as similarly situated employees.
SAFETY:
Company required to hold skip level meetings at least
once every three (3) months to discuss safety issues.
